The Great Plains Game Festival is a three-day tabletop gaming event organised by the Great Plains Gaming Project, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to building a welcoming board-gaming community.
The 2027 festival brings together board-game enthusiasts, families, hobby gamers and visitors for a weekend of gaming, social interaction and entertainment. The event features a large game library with more than 1,000 games, offering participants opportunities to discover new games, enjoy familiar favourites and meet fellow gaming enthusiasts.
Festival activities include organised gaming sessions, a board-game swap meet, play-to-win games, vendor exhibitions, prizes and giveaways. Visitors can participate in scheduled activities or simply enjoy playing games with other attendees.
The festival also serves as an annual fundraiser supporting the nonprofit’s community initiatives, including educational outreach, school board-game libraries and programmes that encourage social connections through gaming.
The event welcomes participants of different ages and experience levels, making it suitable for families as well as dedicated tabletop gaming fans.
