Maine Celebration of Lights 2026

Maine Celebration of Lights is a drive-through holiday light show at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maine, running November 27–December 30, 2026. The route covers more than a mile and features over one million LED lights, animated scenes, a 300-foot multicolored tunnel, and displays reaching roughly 50 feet tall.

Dates and hours

The show operates on selected nights rather than every night, with one-hour entry windows from 5–6 p.m., 6–7 p.m., 7–8 p.m., and 8–9 p.m. The final admission is at 8:15 p.m. The venue is Cumberland County Fairgrounds, 197 Blanchard Road, Cumberland, Maine.

What the experience is like

The attraction is designed to be experienced entirely from a vehicle, making it especially convenient during Maine’s cold holiday season. The main draws are the scale of the illumination and the progression of animated displays along the route, particularly the 300-foot light tunnel; Visit Maine also highlights it as one of the state’s seasonal light attractions.

Tickets and pricing

Admission is per vehicle, not per person. For standard cars, advance tickets are $22 on weekday nights and $25 on Fridays, weekends, and December 24–25; on-site car admission is $30 when available. A $30 Flex Pass allows one visit on any available date and time, while larger vehicles such as limousines and 12/15-passenger vans have higher rates. Advance booking is recommended because if a session sells out online, tickets will not be offered at the gate.

What makes it stand out

The combination of a mile-plus driving route and million-plus lights makes this more of a large-scale illuminated attraction than a neighborhood Christmas-light tour. Its drive-through format is also the defining practical advantage: visitors can see the full display without spending the evening outdoors, making it particularly well suited to families with young children and groups sharing a vehicle.
