Sales Tax Webinar – December 16, 2026
The Sales Tax Webinar is a free online training session from the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Taxation Division, scheduled for December 16, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time. It is designed primarily for Colorado businesses and business tax professionals who need practical guidance on the state’s sales-tax requirements.
What the training covers
The webinar focuses on Colorado sales-tax compliance, supported by the Department’s Colorado Sales Tax Guide and related training materials. Those resources address core responsibilities such as sales-tax licensing, collection, filing, remittance, and recordkeeping, giving attendees both an instructional session and references they can use afterward.
Who it is for
The Department describes its free tax-education webinars as being intended for Colorado businesses and business tax professionals. The sales-tax program is particularly relevant to retailers and others responsible for collecting or administering Colorado sales tax, including people who need to understand jurisdiction codes and special rules applying to particular types of businesses.
Professional education credit
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit is offered for the Department’s tax-education webinars. The Department notes that it is not registered with NASBA, although it follows the joint standards used to issue CPE credit; CPAs from outside Colorado are advised to verify their own state board’s sponsor requirements.
Preparing for the webinar
The Department provides Sales Tax Training Materials that attendees can download or print beforehand. These include an important-links document, the Colorado Sales Tax Guide, DR 0800 Location (Jurisdiction) Codes, and guidance covering special sales-and-use-tax rules for specific businesses; the materials are referenced during the webinar.
