CT NOFA’s 45th Annual Winter Conference

CT NOFA’s 45th Annual Winter Conference is Connecticut’s annual gathering focused on organic and regenerative agriculture, sustainable land care, and resilient food systems. The 2027 edition combines three days of virtual education with a full-day gathering at Wesleyan University, bringing together farmers, gardeners, land-care professionals, advocates, and community members.

When and where

The virtual portion runs March 9–11, 2027, followed by the main in-person conference on Saturday, March 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Registration covers the virtual and in-person sessions, lunch on March 13, and access to virtual workshop recordings for three months afterward.

What the conference covers

The educational program spans farming, organic land care, government policy, homesteading and gardening, food equity and justice, among other subjects. Proposed workshop areas also include seed saving, urban agriculture, ecological restoration, soil health and permaculture, beginning-farmer resources, organic certification, farm innovation, and Black and Indigenous farming practices; speaker details were still forthcoming as of November 2026.

A professional and community gathering

The conference is designed as more than a lecture program: CT NOFA describes its Winter Conference as its signature annual event, incorporating community gathering and recognition alongside technical education. The 2027 event is expected to connect 300+ farmers, home gardeners, and organic advocates, while its dedicated Organic Land Care track provides 4.0 continuing-education units for Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals.

Registration and the Bill Duesing Award

Current registration is $70 for CT NOFA members and accredited organic land-care professionals, $90 general admission, with $100–$140 supporter tiers that help subsidize scholarships. Cost-free scholarship registrations are also available while funding lasts. The March gathering includes presentation of the Bill Duesing Organic Living on the Earth Award, recognizing people or organizations advancing organic farming, land care, education, advocacy, research, or related work.
