IR/INFO 2027
IR/INFO 2027 is an international infrared thermography conference, technical symposium, and training event organized by Infraspection Institute, scheduled for January 31–February 3, 2027, in Orlando/Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Founded in 1987, IR/INFO focuses on practical thermography, predictive/preventive maintenance (P/PM), and nondestructive testing (NDT).
What happens at the conference
The four-day program combines 20+ learning sessions, five short courses, hands-on workshops, a Technology Showcase, and professional networking. The schedule opens Sunday with infrared-imager calibration and hands-on thermal-imaging workshops, followed by three days of technical presentations, courses, demonstrations, and exhibitor sessions.
Technical focus
The 2027 short courses cover electrical-system IR inspections, reliability-centered maintenance, thermography for expert-witness/legal documentation, optical gas imaging, and marketing infrared inspection services. Broader presentations address areas such as safety, emerging applications, new technology, related NDT methods, regulations, case histories, and field techniques, making the program particularly application-oriented rather than purely academic.
Who it is for
IR/INFO was originally created by thermographers for thermographers, but its audience also includes reliability engineers, maintenance managers, technicians, process-control personnel, NDT professionals, manufacturers, quality-assurance inspectors, and building inspectors. A distinguishing feature is the emphasis on exchanging field experience and case studies among practitioners with different levels of experience.
Venue and registration
The 2027 event is being held at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, adjacent to Disney Springs. The published full-conference price is $1,395, including the five short courses, learning sessions, workshops, Technology Showcase, proceedings, selected meals, and conference social events; packages combining the conference with Infraspection certification training are also available.
Professional development
Beyond classroom sessions, IR/INFO includes a Technology Showcase, an infrared image contest, certification-exam opportunities, and networking with experienced thermographers and equipment/service providers. For 2027, Infraspection has also introduced an Emerging Thermographer Scholarship for ages 16–22, providing the selected recipient Level I training, a certification examination, and conference registration.
