SUMMARY:International Workshop 2027 (IW 2027)
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInternational Works
hop 2027\nInternational Workshop 2027 (IW 2027) is the annual professional
working event of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE
)\, scheduled for January 30–February 2\, 2027\, at the Torrance Marriot
t Redondo Beach in Torrance\, California. Its defining feature is active c
ollaboration: participants work together on systems-engineering initiative
s rather than primarily attending conventional conference presentations.\n
A workshop rather than a presentation conference\nIW 2027 is deliberately
different from INCOSE's International Symposium. There are no traditional
 paper\, panel\, or tutorial presentations\; instead\, systems engineers pa
rticipate in working sessions intended to produce outcomes\, advance initi
atives\, and move the discipline forward. Sessions are designed to involve
multiple working groups\, practitioner backgrounds\, and competency level
s.\nWhat happens there\nThe program centers on Working Group sessions and
interactive activities\, with participants contributing expertise to INCOS
 E products\, initiatives\, methods\, and professional activities. INCOSE d
escribes the event as its annual gathering for "doing the work together\,"
bringing people from industry\, government\, and academia into direct col
laboration\; previews already announced for IW 2027 include sessions conce
 rning SysML v2 and model-based systems engineering.\nWhy it matters\nThe I
nternational Workshop is one of INCOSE's flagship gatherings and is especi
ally oriented toward practitioners who want to shape systems-engineering p
ractice\, rather than simply hear completed work presented. The format can
make it particularly valuable for active Working Group participants and p
rofessionals seeking sustained collaboration with the international SE com
 munity\; for context\, the 2024 edition drew a record 781 attendees worldw
ide.\n2027 details\nIW 2027 runs for four days at the Torrance Marriott Re
 dondo Beach\, 3635 Fashion Way\, Torrance\, CA 90503. INCOSE has establish
ed hotel room blocks\, its official event platform is being used for progr
am and registration updates\, and sponsorship registration opened in Octob
er 2026. The event also has an organizational role within INCOSE: officers
elected in the organization's 2026 Board election are scheduled to be for
 mally installed at IW 2027.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
