ance Festival 2027\nThe Kansas City Renaissance Festival is a large outdoo
 r Renaissance faire in Bonner Springs\, Kansas\, recreating a fantasy-infl
ected version of 16th-century Canterbury with costumed characters\, jousti
 ng\, stage entertainment\, food\, shopping\, and participatory activities.
Founded in 1977\, it reports annual attendance of roughly 200\,000 people
.\n2027 dates and hours\nThe 2027 festival is officially scheduled for Sep
tember 4–October 17\, operating Saturdays and Sundays plus Labor Day\, S
 eptember 6\, and Monday\, October 11. Normal hours are 10 a.m.–7 p.m.\;
October 11 runs 10 a.m.–5 p.m.\, and the festival operates rain or shine
.\nWhat happens at the faire\nThe experience centers on an immersive Renai
 ssance village populated by royalty\, villagers\, performers\, merchants\,
and other characters. Tournament jousting is a signature attraction\, wit
h the current 2027 FAQ listing jousts at 1\, 3\, and 5 p.m.\; admission al
 so includes stage shows\, themed-weekend activities\, contests\, and enter
tainment throughout the grounds\, while shopping and food are additional d
raws.\nA long-running Kansas City tradition\nThe festival began in Septemb
er 1977 as a benefit for the Kansas City Art Institute\, meaning the 2027
edition follows its 50th-season celebration in 2026. The anniversary editi
on featured 25 entertainment stages and more than 175 artisans\, illustrat
ing how substantially the event has expanded from its origins.\nWhat is st
ill being announced\nSome 2027 specifics remain forthcoming. The festival
says its 2027 themed-weekend and daily-contest information and its 2027 de
als and discounts are still being released\, so older weekend themes or 20
26 ticket promotions should not be assumed to apply unchanged to 2027.\n\n
