SUMMARY:The 12th IAFOR International Conference on Education – Hawaii
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 12th IAFOR Inte
rnational Conference on Education – Hawaii\nThe 12th IAFOR International
Conference on Education – Hawaii (IICE2027) is an international\, inter
disciplinary academic conference taking place in Honolulu from January 8
–11\, 2027\, with in-person and online participation. Organized by IAFOR
and held in partnership with the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa\, it br
 ings together education researchers\, educators\, policymakers\, practitio
ners\, and doctoral students.\nFormat and setting\nIICE2027 is based at th
e Hawaiʻi Convention Center and Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu and is part o
f IAFOR’s North American Conference Series. It runs concurrently with th
e 7th IAFOR International Conference on Arts &amp\; Humanities in Hawaii (
IICAH2027)\; registration for either conference permits delegates to atten
 d sessions from both\, creating a particularly interdisciplinary program.\
nResearch focus\nThe call for papers is intentionally broad\, with streams
  covering Teaching &amp\; Learning\, Educational Structures\, Community &a
 mp\; Society\, Language &amp\; Culture\, Psychology\, Mind &amp\; Brain\,
and Innovation &amp\; Technology\, plus special themes. IAFOR’s wider 20
 25–2029 themes—technology and AI\, humanity and human intelligence\, g
lobal citizenship and education for peace\, and leadership—provide addit
 ional cross-disciplinary framing.\nPresenting and publishing\nAbstracts ar
e double-blind peer reviewed\, with decisions generally returned within fo
ur weeks. The final abstract deadline is September 24\, 2026\, presenter r
egistration is due November 5\, 2026\, and full papers intended for the co
nference proceedings are due February 9\, 2027\; IAFOR targets publication
of the proceedings for March 26. The proceedings are open access and rece
ive DOIs\, but IAFOR explicitly notes that its conference proceedings are
 not peer-reviewed or Scopus-indexed.\nWhat distinguishes it\nThe conferenc
e emphasizes international and interdisciplinary exchange rather than a na
rrowly specialized education subfield. IAFOR reports that the previous yea
r's Hawaii gathering drew 366 delegates from 46 countries\, and IICE has b
een held in Hawaii since 2016\; the joint education/arts-and-humanities fo
rmat also allows participants to move between disciplinary sessions\, plen
 aries\, and forums.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
