SUMMARY:Washington State Apple Blossom Festival
DESCRIPTION:Washington State Apple Blossom Festival\nThe Washington State A
pple Blossom Festival is an annual spring celebration in Wenatchee\, Washi
ngton\, honoring the region's apple-growing heritage and community traditi
ons. Established in 1919\, it is Washington's oldest major festival and at
tracts more than 100\,000 visitors for parades\, entertainment\, carnival
rides\, and family activities.\nHistory and significance\nThe festival gre
w out of Wenatchee's emergence as a major apple-producing region in the ea
rly 20th century. Susan Wagner was an important founding figure\, helping
establish a celebration that recognized local agriculture and community co
ntributions. Over more than a century\, the festival has become a defining
Wenatchee tradition\, supported by hundreds of volunteers and local organ
 izations.\nMain attractions\nThe festival combines traditional community c
elebrations with a large spring fair. Its signature events include the Gra
nd Parade\, featuring elaborate floats\, marching bands\, and equestrian g
 roups\; a children's Youth Parade\; carnival rides\; live music\; and a po
pular food fair. Arts-and-crafts vendors\, sporting events\, and a classic
-car show add variety to the festivities.\nLocation and atmosphere\nThe ce
lebration centers on Memorial Park in downtown Wenatchee\, with additional
activities throughout Wenatchee and neighboring East Wenatchee. The atmos
phere is lively\, family-oriented\, and community-focused\, especially dur
ing parade weekends. Although apple blossoms provide the seasonal backdrop
\, the experience is primarily a traditional community festival rather tha
 n a dedicated flower-viewing event.\n2027 festival dates\nThe next festiva
l is scheduled for April 22–May 2\, 2027\, with the theme “Having the
Time of Our Lives.” The Youth Parade is scheduled for April 24\, followe
d by the Grand Parade on May 1. The 11-day celebration provides opportunit
ies to experience both weekday entertainment and busier weekend festivitie
s.\nVisitor information\nMost activities take place outdoors\, making comf
ortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing useful. Memorial Pa
rk is a convenient starting point for the food fair and entertainment\, wh
ile parade days typically bring larger crowds and traffic disruptions. The
festival office is located at 2 South Chelan Avenue\, Wenatchee.
