Event Type

EquiFest of Kansas 2027 is a three-day, all-breed horse fair and equine exposition running February 26–28, 2027, at the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka. Produced by the Kansas Horse Council, the 2027 edition marks EquiFest’s 30th anniversary and combines horse competitions, education, entertainment, exhibits, and shopping.

What happens at EquiFest

The event is designed to cover a broad cross-section of horse culture rather than a single discipline. Programming includes ranch rodeos, speed events, horsemanship demonstrations, clinics and workshops, alongside live music, poetry, storytelling, historical presentations, and a stall-barn showcase featuring horses and other equines ranging from minis to draft animals.

Schedule and venue

EquiFest takes place at Stormont Vail Events Center, 1 Expocentre Drive, Topeka, Kansas. Vendor hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Sunday; arena programming extends until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, while workshops run throughout the daytime, with Sunday programming beginning as early as 8 a.m.

Tickets

Admission is $30 for one day or $75 for all three days for ages 15+, and $15 for one day or $40 for three days for ages 6–14; children 5 and younger are free but still require a wristband. The organizer currently says there are no advance ticket sales—wristbands are sold at the venue box office during EquiFest—and general admission covers activities across the expo buildings, including daytime and evening programming.

Why 2027 is notable

The Kansas Horse Council launched EquiFest in 1998 in Wichita, and the event subsequently spent periods in Topeka and Salina before returning to Topeka in 2026. The organizer estimates roughly 15,000 attendees annually, and EquiFest serves as the Kansas Horse Council’s primary fundraiser, making the 30th-anniversary edition both a large public horse expo and a significant gathering for Kansas’s equine community
