AZ MEP Leadership Development Program – January Session
The AZ MEP Leadership Development Program – January Session is a six-session, in-person professional-development course in Phoenix designed primarily for employees moving into leadership and supervisory roles in manufacturing. It focuses on practical “people” skills that newly promoted leaders may not have received through technical or operational training.
Program structure
The 2027 program runs January 19 through February 23, with each class lasting four hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sessions are held at Government Mall, 100 N. 15th Avenue, Room 101, in Phoenix. The listed price is $1,500 per person for all six sessions.
What participants learn
The curriculum progresses through six practical leadership areas: New Leader Essentials (Jan. 19), Effective Communication (Jan. 27), Conflict Resolution (Feb. 2), Employee Development (Feb. 9), Time Management (Feb. 16), and Change Management (Feb. 23). Most meetings fall on Tuesdays; the communication class is specifically scheduled for Wednesday.
Who it is designed for
The program specifically addresses a common manufacturing challenge: a capable operator is promoted to lead or supervisor but receives little preparation for managing people. AZ MEP frames the course around building the soft skills and leadership capabilities needed to make that transition successfully, with an emphasis on communication, employee development, handling conflict, and organizational change.
