Women Leading Delaware Education Conference 2027
The Women Leading Delaware Education Conference 2027 is an annual professional-learning and networking conference for current and aspiring education leaders, hosted by the University of Delaware College of Education and Human Development’s School Success Center. The 2027 event is scheduled for March 16, 2027, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clayton Hall Conference Center in Newark, Delaware.
Theme and focus
The 2027 theme is “EdPowered: Learning, Innovating, Thriving,” centered on continuing to learn as a leader, embracing innovation, and creating conditions in which educators, students, and communities can thrive. Programming is organized around leadership, innovation, professional growth, and the particular opportunities and barriers affecting women in education leadership.
What happens at the conference
The day is designed around professional learning and relationship-building, with a continental breakfast, networking luncheon, breakout workshops, panel discussions, and opportunities for continued collaboration. Sessions are led in part by local education leaders and emphasize evidence-informed ideas and participant interaction rather than solely lecture-style presentations.
Who it is for
The conference serves teachers, administrators, policymakers, researchers, and other educators across elementary, secondary, and higher education, including both established and aspiring leaders. Although its central subject is women and education leadership, the organizers state that all educators are encouraged to participate and engage with questions of leadership opportunity and representation.
A growing Delaware leadership event
The conference began in 2019 with roughly 250 education leaders and has expanded since then. The 2026 edition drew more than 350 Delaware educators, making the 2027 gathering part of an increasingly established statewide professional-learning community focused on educational leadership.
Registration and proposals
As currently published, early-bird registration is $225 through January 28, 2027, standard registration is $250 from February 1 through March 3, and groups of five or more receive a $225-per-person rate. The conference is also accepting proposals for breakout sessions, featured talks, and posters; proposals are due December 31, 2026, with decisions expected by January 31, 2027.
