19th Annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest – North Idaho
The 19th Annual Safety Fest of the Great Northwest – North Idaho is a three-day workplace and community safety-training event hosted at North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center in Post Falls, Idaho. Scheduled for February 17–19, 2027, it provides safety and health classes, demonstrations, and workshops free to the public.
What makes Safety Fest distinctive
The event is a collaborative effort involving businesses, industry, nonprofit organizations, and municipal agencies, rather than simply a conventional professional conference. Its purpose extends from occupational safety to safety at home and in the broader community, with financial and in-kind support directed toward keeping the training free.
Who it serves
Safety Fest is designed for people working in general industry, mining, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction, while remaining open to businesses and community members with an interest in safety. Previous North Idaho editions have included training in areas such as OSHA practices, first aid/CPR, fall protection, mine safety, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, forklift operation, workplace violence, and heavy-equipment safety.
Training with practical value
The program emphasizes hands-on and job-relevant learning, and some courses in previous editions have led to industry-recognized credentials or met OSHA training requirements. The scale is substantial: the 2025 edition had 53 instructors, 80 classes, 577 students, and 1,354 completed class enrollments, illustrating how the event functions as a regional training resource rather than a small seminar.
2027 event
The 19th edition is scheduled for February 17–19, 2027 at the NIC Workforce Training Center, 525 S. Clearwater Loop, Post Falls, Idaho. North Idaho’s event is part of the wider Safety Fest of the Great Northwest network, with separate events planned elsewhere in Idaho, including Nampa, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Lewiston.
