The Rose Parade is one of America’s best-known New Year’s Day traditions. Organised by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, the annual parade brings together elaborate floral floats, marching bands, equestrian units and other participating organisations.
The 2027 edition is the 138th Rose Parade. Its theme is “Welcome,” celebrating belonging and community. The floats are decorated with flowers and other natural materials, with designs ranging from traditional floral displays to imaginative, large-scale moving creations.
The parade follows a route of approximately 5.5 miles through Pasadena. It begins near Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, travels north along Orange Grove Boulevard, then turns east onto Colorado Boulevard, where much of the public viewing takes place.
Visitors can watch marching bands from different parts of the United States and other countries, see equestrian groups and enjoy the creative float designs. The event is also broadcast to a large television audience. Related Tournament of Roses activities include Equestfest, Bandfest and Floatfest, which are separate event listings and should not be combined with the parade record.
