The 16th Annual Chinese New Year in the Desert is a major cultural celebration in Las Vegas welcoming the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Goat. The two-day event brings together Asian cultural organisations, local communities, artists, performers, businesses and visitors to celebrate traditional customs, music, food and cultural heritage.
The celebration begins on February 19 with a Chinese New Year family feast, offering an opportunity for guests to enjoy traditional cuisine and welcome the new year together.
On February 20, the highlight is the colourful Lunar New Year Spring Festival Parade through the Fremont East Entertainment District in Downtown Las Vegas. The parade features traditional costumes, cultural displays, decorated floats, music, drummers, dance groups and community organisations.
Following the parade, visitors can enjoy a family-friendly after-party at Downtown Container Park featuring live cultural performances, vendor showcases and dance fitness activities. The festival provides an opportunity to experience Asian traditions, support local businesses and celebrate cultural diversity in the Las Vegas community.
