Alaska Forum 2027
Alaska Forum 2027 (AF2027) is a five-day professional-development and technical-training conference scheduled for February 1–5, 2027, at the Dena’ina Center in downtown Anchorage. The fully in-person event builds on nearly three decades of environmental programming while expanding into broader issues affecting Alaska’s communities, infrastructure, economy, and future.
What the conference covers
The program is expected to feature 100+ technical and professional sessions, keynote events, regulatory and environmental updates, exhibitors, and networking. Topics span environmental engineering and cleanup, ecology, energy innovation, disaster and oil-spill response, infrastructure and broadband, public health and safety, resource development, Tribal governance, waste management, water quality, grant administration, and community readiness.
Who it brings together
AF2027 is designed as a cross-sector Alaska gathering, rather than solely an environmental conference. Participants include environmental and Tribal program professionals, government employees, scientists, engineers, consultants, Alaska Native corporations, utilities, emergency-response and health professionals, resource industries, nonprofits, educators, businesses, and community leaders. The 2027 program particularly emphasizes connections among environmental work, energy, the Arctic, rural communities, workforce development, fish and wildlife, and infrastructure.
Professional development
Training is a central part of the event, with five days of in-person programming supplemented by Virtual Technical Sessions. Registered attendees are slated to receive virtual sessions in December 2026 and January 2027 before the conference, followed by biweekly virtual technical sessions during the year. A week-long grants-training track is also planned for organizations managing federal awards.
Attendance and registration
The standard full-conference registration is currently listed at $695, including conference sessions, keynote events, lunches, networking opportunities, and scheduled after-hours events; a two-day registration is listed at $450, with discounted rates for confirmed presenters and moderators. The Anchorage Marriott Downtown is the designated host hotel, while the conference itself takes place at the Dena’ina Center.
