CSMFO 2027 Annual Conference
The CSMFO 2027 Annual Conference is the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers’ flagship gathering for local-government finance professionals, scheduled for February 1–4, 2027, at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. The four-day event combines continuing education, professional development, networking, and industry engagement, with opportunities to earn CPE credit.
Theme and focus
The 2027 theme is “Too Fast, Too Finance,” also presented as “Too Fast, Too Finance, Sacramento Drift.” Programming reflects the broad responsibilities of municipal finance professionals, with proposed session areas including accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning, treasury and debt, financial management, technology and innovation, and leadership and management.

The conference is geared toward finance professionals serving California cities, counties, special districts, and other public agencies, along with commercial professionals who support government finance. CSMFO describes its annual conference as its premier statewide event; historically, the conference can attract 2,000-plus attendees and more than 100 exhibitors, making networking with peers and service providers a significant part of the experience.
Schedule and activities
The opening day, Monday, February 1, includes pre-conference sessions from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., plus separate-registration golf and pickleball activities. Government members are listed at $650 early bird, $800 regular, and $950 late/on-site; government non-members are $975 regular and $1,125 late/on-site.
