Missouri State Fair 2027

The Missouri State Fair 2027 is Missouri’s annual agricultural, livestock, exhibition, and entertainment fair, scheduled for August 12–22, 2027, at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.  Agriculture remains its defining focus, complemented by competitions, youth programs, carnival attractions, food, and live entertainment.

Agriculture at the center

The fair showcases livestock, crops, horticulture, floriculture, and Missouri-produced commodities, connecting working agriculture with a large public celebration. Missouri law establishes the state fair in Sedalia specifically to encourage the state’s agricultural, livestock, mechanical, and other industries.

4-H and youth competition

4-H and FFA participation is a major part of the fair experience, particularly livestock and horse competitions, exhibits, demonstrations, and other youth activities. Missouri 4-H has already confirmed its participation for August 12–22, 2027; for example, its 2027 Dog Show and Dog Bowl are scheduled for August 16 at the Mathewson Exhibition Center.

Beyond the livestock barns

The fair traditionally combines its agricultural program with a carnival midway, recreational activities, and musical entertainment, making it broader than an agricultural trade show. The complete 2027 entertainment lineup and ticket pricing have not yet been announced, so specific performers and admission prices should not be inferred from previous years.

Setting and tradition

The fair is held at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, 2503 W. 16th Street in Sedalia, a historic complex used throughout the year for livestock shows, exhibitions, festivals, and other events.  Established around the turn of the 20th century, the Missouri State Fair has developed into one of the state’s major annual showcases of agriculture and rural life.
