The Nebraska Middle School VEX V5 Robotics Competition State Championship is a statewide robotics competition bringing together qualified middle-school teams from across Nebraska.
The championship challenges students to demonstrate their engineering, programming, teamwork and problem-solving abilities through the VEX V5 Robotics Competition. Teams design, build and programme robots to complete specific challenges and compete against other schools.
The two-day event begins with team check-in, robot inspections and skills-field practice on Friday. Saturday features qualification matches, skills challenges, alliance selection, elimination rounds and the final awards ceremony.
The competition provides students with an opportunity to apply STEM concepts in a practical environment, develop collaboration skills and demonstrate their creativity and technical knowledge.
The 2027 championship will take place at the GreenState Millard Activity Facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
