Winterlights at Naumkeag
Winterlights at Naumkeag is a seasonal outdoor holiday-light experience staged across the historic Naumkeag estate and gardens in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. For the 2026–2027 season, The Trustees has scheduled the display for November 27, 2026–January 2, 2027, transforming the landscape with thousands of lights, festive music, seasonal treats, and changing displays.
Dates, hours, and tickets
The regular schedule is Wednesday–Sunday, 4:30–9 p.m., with closures on December 24–25 and additional openings December 21–22 and 28–29; January 1 is also open. Advance timed tickets are required and aren’t sold on site. Standard adult admission is $32 nonmember / $27 Trustees member, with lower Value Night pricing; children ages 3–15 are $15/$10, and children 15 and under are free December 28–January 2.
The attraction is essentially an after-dark walk through an illuminated Gilded Age landscape, rather than a drive-through light show. Visitors follow decorated garden and woodland paths, with new or expanded displays incorporated each year; the first floor of the historic house is also open during Winterlights. The Trustees recommends allowing roughly one hour for the experience.
The setting
Naumkeag gives the display much of its distinctive character. The 48-acre estate includes a 44-room, Shingle-style country house designed by McKim, Mead & White and celebrated gardens developed by Mabel Choate with landscape architect Fletcher Steele; Winterlights overlays those historic terraces and garden spaces with a contemporary holiday installation.
Parking and accessibility
Parking arrangements are important: guests select an off-site Stockbridge parking zone during ticketing and use shuttle transportation for later admission periods. The grounds include stairs, steep grades, uneven and uncompacted surfaces, and potentially muddy or icy paths; Naumkeag states that the property is not wheelchair- or stroller-accessible. Sturdy footwear and clothing appropriate for an outdoor Berkshire winter are recommended.
